These mounts worked very well on my 99 Ford Explorer OEM rails. Installation was fast and easy for a couple of Raptor bike racks. The OEM rails aren't as rigid as Yakima so the weight of the bikes tends to make the Ford rails flex. The only real con is price. These things seem a little pricey but I guess it beats having to buy a complete Yakima system. 1 set per bike.

Bought this for a 99 Honda CR-V, as the Yakima website stated it would fit my factory cross-bars. Did not even come close to fitting. Long gaps horizontal to roof of car. Returned this item. No yakima phone support on weekends was also a negative.

This is a great product and I do like Yakima racks, though the description says it fits factory racks. It fits SOME, NOT ALL. I have a 2008 Subaru Impreza with a factory rack and it does not fit. Be sure to check before buying

The flat bracket that goes around the back of the monostay and attaches to the rack is made of such a soft metal that as I screwed the bolts into the horseshoe shaped piece it simply bent and could not be made completely tight. When I attach something to my bike I like to think that it's going to stay put and not wiggle around. I gave it two stars because it's probably okay for light loads.

Great so far, only about 50 miles of riding. I ride a tandem and had to mount the bracket about half way up on the stoker seatpost but the rubber coating on the loop sticks well. Rear rack is very stable with this setup. The small pad between the C bracket and the seatpost slips off and leaves a gooey residue, but not a huge issue. Overall very good, and if it holds up and doesn't break I would give it four stars. It's a bummer paying more in shipping than the item cost, but I couldn't even find a bike shop that knew what a mono-stay adapter is, never mind actually selling it.

Be forewarned: this adapter might be too small for your bike!



It is too small to fit around the monostay on my Trek Navigator 300 comfort/hybrid bike. The "U" bar would need to have arms that were about least 1/4 inch longer.



Your bike might be fine. My Trek has thick frame bars.

Prior to purchase the company's Customer Service agent told me the security of the bike would be maintained since the opening mechanism was located in the center of the bar and would be covered by the locking mechanism of the carrier itself. However this is NOT the case as the opening mechanisms are both exposed once the bikes are loaded and locked into place. After I received the item and called them again it I was told by customer service they knew nothing re the item as they did not manufacture it themselves and i needed to talk to a tech. Once I heard from the tech, about a day later he confirmed that it cannot be secured. It works but is not secure, so if you intend to leave the bike on the rack w/o you being present the bike will need to be secured by other means.
