 "Satisfied customer" 2009-07-16

I received the allan tension bar that was sent out quickly. The bar is in perfect shape, and is very easy to use. I would recomment it to anyone that transports bikes on a bike rack.

 "Great solution!" 2009-07-10

This is the one you want. For about $20, you can attach a woman's, child's, or youth's bike onto a standard hitchmount bike rack - and effectively place it on the rack as if it were a men's bike. We just used two of these on a 3000+ mile trip. Worked flawlessly. Without these, mounting my wife's and son's bikes would have been impossible on our Yakima rack. When I needed a 3rd, I had to pick one up locally. Unfortunately, the Allen model wasn't available and I paid 50% more for another brand that works half as well.

Highest recommendation.

 "Transporting a Woman's Bike?" 2009-07-02
By J. Louther
I bought the cross-bar adapter in May. It works great. The tension bar expands to any size bike. It takes 5 seconds to install and then you're ready to load the bike on a rack. Without the adapter, a woman's bike does not hang properly from a trunk mount bike rack.

"Works great. Can be painful." 2009-06-21
By Jetmaker (USA)
Works great for holding the bike on the rack. But it can be a pain... literally! Due to the spring tension and the funky retention pin, if you aren't careful you'll get your hand pinched. This is because you have to stretch the bar against the tension and then insert the pin. If you slip it will snap back with a lot of force. If your hand is in the way then... OUCH! The same can happen when removing the bar. This is probably guaranteed to happen to you at least once. Don't worry, you will heal in a day or two. From then on you will pay very close attention and it should not be a problem.

Works as expected for my 2 bikes without conventional top bars. I am pleased with the purchase.
