"Swagman XC 2-Bike Hitch mount" 2009-10-16

Purchased the bike rack to make it convenient to load and unload. I found this rack to be great at supporting the bikes during travel. It was easy to install and would recommend it to anyone who is tired of taking wheels off and loading on a rack.

The only negative thing I have about the rack is that in the hitch mount they used a "plastic" holder for the 2 nuts that the hitch pin screws into. If you tighten down the hitch to much it will crack. It hasn't caused a problem yet but I thought they should have used some metal piece to hold them in place.

"Quick and easy-use rack for not a lot of money" 2009-09-09
By HiTek (Wisconsin)
Already being the owner of a Saris Bones trunk rack and having spent long periods of time hooking it to my car so that it could dent my bumper and rub paint off my trunk, I figured it was time to get a hitch put on and get a rack that wouldn't damage my car. Racks on which you hang the top tube of your bike were out of the hunt because I was all too familiar with the handlebars twisting, the wheels spinning and having to put the adapter bar on my wife's bike to appropriately hang it. I was surprised and a bit skeptical when I found this rack for $150, but we bought it.

Assembly of the rack went smoothly (no missing parts or misaligned holes). Attaching the rack to the hitch is smooth and easy. The fact that the rack hinges and is locked in place with ball lock pins is nice. When not in use, the rack folds up and hangs quite compactly in our garage. Forget the locking hitch pins and all those other accessories to keep your rack secure. The rack removes, folds and fits easily in your locked trunk in less than a minute and remains secure while you are riding your bike and it's just as quick to reattach. So far we've hauled the bikes 350 miles each way for vacation and multiple short trips to bike paths. All the bolts have stayed snug as I check them frequently.

The rack has been wonderful thus far and we have had no problems. The best features of this rack are 1)Quality and style for a good price 2)Fold up feature makes it compact for temporary (trunk) storage or long-term storage 3)Fast and easy to attach and detach from hitch and 4)Insanely quick and easy, once the rack has been adjusted the first time, to mount your bikes. I recommend this product to anyone who would rather be biking than still attaching their bike rack and mounting their bikes to it.

This Bike Rack is cool enough and does the job... Swagman XC Cross-Country

This works on a 1 1/4" hitch and a 2" hitch adapter as well.

One Tip... The Part that goes into the Hitch comes with a bolt that screws in...That was not good for me... I took it out... Took off the cap and removed the 2 nuts... and used my old hitch bolt with the Jesus Pin... When I bike ride it takes me less than a min to mount the rack. When I get to where I am going I put the rack back in the trunk... When I am done riding.. I take it out of the trunk and when I get home I put it back in the trunk... Works for me. I only have it setup for one bike... But I keep the extra 3 parts in the trunk for another bike if ever I need it. I adjusted the brackets a bit tighter in a door jam during the install for a better tighter fit. I have seen another similar bike rack called XPORT that is setup on a very similar system.

 "GOOD PRODUCT!" 2009-09-05

Easy to mount on hitch. Bikes are very secure and wheels do not spin around in the wind. Padded against scratches and keeps bikes well apart. No need for top tube adapters for women's frame. Good price for a very decent rack.

 "Design Flaw" 2009-09-03
By David
This is a good product but has a critical design flaw. It amazes me when a product is designed once for mass production and it has design issues. The problem, which is supposedly corrected in the newer model, is that the center pole is not tall enough. My mountain bike is an 18 1/2" frame (medium size)with a normal shock and it is too tall for this rack. The frame grip can't come down far enough to get to the wratchet section to hold the bike. It is a shame because, other than this, it is a well designed product and it would have been easy and inexpensive to make the pole taller. How this wasn't tested to death before production is beyond me. The product description only says it will accomodate any frame and doesn't say to what height-not good. I had to send it back at my cost.
