I was a bit hesitant to put this carrier on my car. It's only an old integra and I thought it may look a weird have a full bike on top. Well I'm glad I did purchase it, no longer do I have to take the front wheel off my bike. It's just lift on the roof, ratchet, and strap and away I go. It doesn't look too bad. the carrier is sturdy, my bike is not fly off the roof. When the rack is not in use it does have a large profile even when it's folded down. All I need now if for Thule to design a roof rack for an integra that allows you open the moon roof. Come on Thule get it together.

I got this bike rack specifically to hold my son's BMX bike. I coughed at the price, but it seemed to be the only one designed to specifically handle BMX-sized bikes. Assembly was straightforward, as was mounting to my Thule rack (it will fit other systems as well).
Mounting the bike literally requires about 30 seconds. You put the bike on the rack, slide the ratchet arm down on to the wheel/fork, strap the back wheel, and you're done. I was really impressed with how solidly the simple ratchet arm holds the bike. There is no play at all. Releasing it is just as quick.
We also have a short garage, but this only adds about 3" on top of the rack when it's folded down, so our van still makes it into the garage.

I have the other Thule car rack that grabs onto the bike frame. It seems easier to use and of higher quality. Comparing this to my other roof rack, this one is unnecessarily difficult to attach to the roof. It also seems to have many components of cheap plastic. I don't get a warm feeling that the ratchet arm will stay locked. Given another chance, I wouldn't get this.

Having used a number of different racks I find this item quick & easy to use, Not contacting the frame is a big advantage along with not having to worry if quick release system or through bolt.

This rack is lightweight, sturdy, and quick to load and unload. It holds the bike steady on twisting mountain roads and at highway speeds substantially in excess of the posted signs. I had to do a very unscheduled unload while attempting a low clearance In-n-Out Burger drive through this past weekend. There's nothing like trying to unload a roof rack while several cars in line behind me watch and laugh, but I had the bike off the roof in under 20 seconds.
Assembling the rack is another story. It is not intuitive and the instructions reminded me of another Scandanavian company--Ikea (this is not a good thing). Between attaching the Thule fairing and the bike rack, it took me about two hours. Of course, once assembled, it attaches and removes easily.
