took a long maiden trip through heavy, heavy, heavy rain and it came through like a champ. No moisture in the box at all.
what I don't like is the hinge opening. its fallen apart twice. It is not a permanent break but it is annoying.

The engineering of this product is impressive. It opens easily from either side, goes on or off in a minute, won't scratch you car since there are no metal pieces on the bottom, and most importantly, holds a whole lot of cargo! In addition, the redesigned locks don't require you to apply torque to the key to open--there's a separate metal handle for that. It's so long that it was a bit tricky to figure out a way for my (shorter) wife and I to take it on/off the mini van, but we've got that technique down now with her on the side of the car and me in the back.
I think this is a bit sturdier than the similar one from Thule. In fact the only one that I've seen which is better would be the Pro version of the same cargo box, but I wasn't going to pay that much more for essentially the same functionality. I was happy to find this on sale at Amazon!

We've taken this thing all over the country. It's awesome for long driving vacations and it rides incredibly quiet, holds tons of stuff and is easy to install and remove. Absolutely love it.

This rooftop rack is supereb. It was easy as can be to install, and I needed the driver side openning that it has along with the traditional passenger side. My only wish is that they had a flatter base on the inside, but that is not a major issue at all.
